The Mynabirds est le groupe de la chanteuse Laura Burhenn (ex-Georgie James). Pour ce nouveau projet, elle s’est entourée de Richard Swift, Orenda Fink (Azure Ray, O+S), AJ Mogis (Criteria, Monsters of Folk, Tilly and the Wall), Tom Hnatow (These United States) et Nate Walcott (Bright Eyes). Il est en résulté un album pop et soul sorti en avril 2010, The Mynabirds.

Pour l’anecdote, le nom The Mynabirds est un hommage au projet The Mynah Birds, qui a rassemblé en 1966 Rick James et Neil Young.
